The recognition of prior learning is the assessment, recognition and accreditation of existing competencies, regardless of how, when and where learning occurs. A process under which you are evaluated and you can complete one or more modules (or a full qualification) based on your current skills and knowledge.
The basic principle underlying the RPL program is competency training, the focus should be on learning outcomes, rather than how, when, and where learning occurred. RPL can only be granted by qualified evaluators working with or on behalf of the MEC.
